Drinking and partying… never has and never will be my scene. I’d rather be out and about doing what I am known for… sporadic trips and nights spent in my car.
We hiked about 6 miles to Cuyamaca Peak, it was quite a cold trek. We followed up the hike with some well deserved BBQ lunch and MOMs pie after that!
All was well and peaceful on the last day of the decade. Setting forth positive momentum into the new year.
Philadelphia is such a proud city. I could tell all the owners of the shops were happy to serve such a unique community. Red and blue lights lit up buildings to show off Philles colors and everywhere you looked were red caps. I walked out of the station in Philly and headed down Market Street. (more…)
Washington D.C. started off very bumpy. I missed my train and had to take a longer one to get there — 26 hours versus the original 18 hours.
I enjoyed a bed for the first time in days and woke up to a pretty view of the country side. Amtrak first class was quite a change to what I had gotten used to the nights before. Although it was nice on the train, I never felt like I belonged. I was easily half the age of everyone onboard and probably the only one who hadn’t been married for 20 years. But I did enjoy a couple of good meals and took plenty of naps. (more…)
Tonight my buddy Alan and I decided that he would teach me how to properly cook steak. If you have heard me rambling on or seen me pacing in the meat aisle… it’s because I have been wanting to cook steak for so long. I took the passenger seat this time around and let Alan take the wheel. We cooked steak, potatoes and green beans.
