East Coast: Goodbye my Friends

I want to give you all an idea of what I am going to be doing the next month. I will be traveling by air, bike, bus, taxi and train.

I have nowhere to stay, no plans, no friends... just hope and an expectation to have the time of my life.

I am truly scared. Happy scared and scared for my life.

The video gives you a short idea of the journey I am about to take on. I know no one in the east and I will be staying hopefully in hostels most nights. I will be hanging with a good friend of mine @llawlor and he will be showing me the ropes of Philadelphia. I am sure I will spend quite some time sleeping on trains / local Apple stores. I will have two bags with me, one with clothes and one will all camera equipment.

I will spend a lot of time walking, taking HDR images and recording video. I plan on sleeping in a real bed and showering in a real shower when I return. Actually I am looking forward to both of those things already, I am sure that is not a good thing ;).

Chicago: I will play it safe and check out all of the things to see in the big city. I am really excited to photograph all the cities at night.

Washington, D.C.: I plan on walking all day. Seeing all the monuments during the day and night since both are incredible. On a map the two farthest monuments apart are a two hour walk.

Philadelphia: I will probably be witnessing a different than usual scene because of the World Series. I will be spending my time with friend Liam Lawlor.

New York City: I have been looking forward to NYC for a long time. I will not be driving so a lot of hassle will be avoided. I know by this point my legs and camera will hate me quite a bit. I can't wait to be apart of the city that never sleeps.

Boston: I have only heard good things about Boston from people who have lived / visited.

What I am bringing:

In case you were wondering what I am bringing along with me I am going to list a few things here.

Cameras: Nikon D700 and D5000

Lenses: 24mm 2.8, 50mm 1.4, 60mm 2.8 macro, 180mm 2.8 and a 18-55mm vr kit lens.

Camera Etc: 5 camera batteries, 3 chargers, 2 battery packs and over 50GB of memory cards.

Clothes: I dont care so much about clothes. A few long sleeves shirts, sweatshirts, jeans and fresh pack of socks :).

I will be blogging and putting together small videos from my iphone and posting them.

I will miss all of you.

Love, Peter update now Live!

I spent quite a bit of time being stubborn about the computer displays that I was going to support. I was building my website on my beautiful 24" iMac and always ignored how bad it looked on 13" computers.

1280x800 has always been the most popular screen resolution, therefore I decided it was time to support it. My goal was to redesign the site so that a 13" computer can see a full size image along with the thumbnails.

I started with a smaller header / top of the page because the old one was too big and didn't look so professional. I also added Hdr to the mix along with an actual Concert gallery. Hdr is highlighted in blue to represent that it is a new feature of the site.

I am very happy on how the site turned out. I added several of the new images to the mix and removed a lot of older images that no longer seemed to be at par with my current portfolio. I also added one new feature because I like my pictures big just like I like my music loud.

There is now a Full Screen button at the bottom of every gallery so those of use with larger screen can enjoy the images the size I want you to view them.

I have spent the good part of a weeks free time on the site and it is finally complete. If you do not know I redesign my website every year and relaunch it on my photo anniversary which is on Feb 14. Next February with be my fifth year of shooting and I am looking forward to the future. I really hope you all enjoy it :) Please give me feedback on the site and let me know if you run into any problems!
